Last week Sam had a heart attack, eventually he ended up at the Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. They put a balloon in to open up his viens. He is scheduled for more surgery after the FDA approves a new procedure.
Hopefully this will happen within eight weeks.
Mean while he is at home resting.
Some of you got to meet him at the GNRS and see his Ford Coupe in blg. 9 with the historical customs.
Sam is also well known for his sectioned shoe box and several other cars.
A lot of you may not know that while working for AMT Model Company with Gene Winfield that he purchased and restored the Ala-Kart.
I am sure Sam would like to hear from you, please drop him a line or card to

Sad news. I saw both he and Chip down at the GNRS. I hope he gets better very soon.

You may be the best of freinds, but I'm not sure that he would want his address posted on here. I know I wouldn't...just a thought.

Chip is a prophet compared to the god that Sam is! Hope he's ok. One of my favorite hot rodders of all time.

Sams like cool guy......I agree though erase the man's address. Might be good intentions but think of how many people will see it. Maybe a PO BOX and you could forward the cards.

God bless him. I agree with the folks about the address. The HAMB might be a tight-knit squad, but it's a lot bigger place than it used to be.

Anyway, I hope Mr. Foose has a quick surgery and a full recovery!

Sam is quite the character, hopefully this won’t slow him down for too long.
I have had the opportunity to meet and work with him on several occasions through Roger.
Most recently Sam flush fitted the skirts on Rogers 46 Chevy.
The man does great work and makes it look easy.
