I have to ask, is it a big day in Ireland as it is here? Or is it another Americanized holiday?

I would post of pick of my Irish National kilt if it came in on time

 

Other than Dublin.....not really, in my experience anyway.

Its a bank Holiday today, on St.Patricks day; considering the way our economy is here we must 'make a big deal' of it so...
There is a big parade in Dublin, and most of the other cities- Galway, Limerick, Cork, etc and in may of the bigger towns.
the Parades are for the youngster and kids to enjoy; the colour and the pagentry; I have fond memories of St.Patricks day Parades from when I was a kid; the older folk 'wet the shamrock' a little later in the day/evening...

Pickup was built in 1991; 'WW' stands for 'Wicklow' - the county it was first registered in Ireland. I Live in Tipperary, which is a bit away from Kilpedder; actually the p/u was a UK import in 1995; I bought it 3 years ago as a shell and built it up from that...

My dad used to tell me Green Motorcycles were bad luck. (and I've heard the same about race cars) So maybe that's why out of all my past cars, only 3 were green...

I'll be damned!! When I went to Ireland first I stayed with an Uncle and Aunt in Crumlin. The girlfriend (now long suffering wife) lived in Ballybrack. When I'd go to see her I took the back roads and always loved the Johnstown Rd. stretch from Foxrock to Cabinteely. Especially the swoopy 180 turn at the bottom of the hill.
