Well, a bittersweet day today. I sold my Model A coupe to Hamber Bykerlad (Ken) in Australia. In the deal I agreed to get the car over to the docks on the Washington coast. I broke my hand Friday and so Jamie's Dad went with me, driving, loading, unloading...pretty much doing everything I'm so glad he went with me as we had a good time leaving yesterday and getting back tonight...800 miles total. Arrived at the dock today and unloaded the car, signed some papers and that was that! I'm excited for Ken, I'm sure he can hardly wait to get his new prize! Thanks for the sale, it went super smooth!!! At the hotel this morning...it was POURING down rain At the dock, backing into the holding building to unload Me with the ol girl for the last time Take care of her Ken!!!!!!
Boy do I know that feeling. But the stash of stuff you have you'll be onto another noteable A,B, or C soon enough. Tim
o man ..i love that car ...im sure you will have something soon just as cool ..now get to work on the roadster...lol
We all have to go through this process as we continue our "progress" in hot rod land. I must admit, I have not "yearned" for any of my old cars yet..mainly because I try to replace them with something else that I get even more excited about....hope you are up to the same shenagigans!!!!!
Right when you get it the way you wanted!!!!!!! YOU DUMP HER!!!!!!!! Guess it was time to move on,huh.....At least there was someone with some money, these days, hahaha! Hope you guys are both happy. Always loved that Coupe.
Looks like a real nice rod.I know how you feel.I sold my 32 I built from the ground up.It was a sad day seeing a piece of me driving away with new owner. But I had 2 boys that had to go to collage and the $ helped. I am relieved knowing mine went far away.I wouldn't want to see someone else driving it around.
I think you sort of deserved that broken hand for getting rid of her. I mean, I think this is a long line of upcoming punishment for your insolence. Goodbye old girl, you have taught me much and I appreciated you every step of the way. I hope the next owner enjoys your company.
Prediction!! 6 months from now people are going to be saying.... remember Chris? -----No I don't think so Yeah ya do, he had that awesome unchopped coupe that inspired a bunch of people to keep it simple? -----Yeah I remember the car but he's sort of slipping my mind Yeah well he took that money from the coupe and got into IROC-Z's. He really lost his way when he got rid of that old coupe. It's almost like someone took his soul and replaced it with a hollow shell.
Wow, that was unexpected. I'm sure it will love it's new home though. That has been one of my favorite A coupes ever.
well chris things happen for a reason, there is bigger and better coming your way for sureim sure now with the pockets deep,,u cam move on the other cool projects u got...i guess we will see u driving something else next week the way u get shit done?your little coupe is a nice car, glad to see a fellow hamber enjoy it.........
He's going to build his '34 roadster with that knot of cash right. I know he's been itching to get on that thing and I'm pretty sure he has the right fire (green fire) under his ass to bust it out this winter....at least the chassis.
ROFLMAO!!!!!!! JJ I think I like that coupe almost as you do. I remember it at the first WA billet proof. it's prefect. I'm a little heart broken it's going away too.....But I think you and I both know that something awesome is about to happen with the replacement.
First, congrats Chris and Bykerlad. Second, who is the person putting one stars on Chris's threads? It's silly, I don't get it. It's a cool hot rod, for sure.
Man Chris, parting with such sweet sorrow. Going forward though you'll be able to afford expensive/cherry 34 parts for the roadster project. Looking forward to seeing your progress on it.
Boo hoo. Just kiddin' Chris. Now you can focus on your other 48 projects. Post some pics and make us proud.
I'm not ashamed to say it was me. This Chris dude is getting on my last nerve. Just kidding, I don't rate threads because it doesn't make sense to me.
Ha! I notice weird things like that. I don't understand the system actually either. I only give 5s if I like something. You know, kinda like the Scooter Scale. Anyway, question for you Chris, is the '34 now your most extensive project?
Hi Chris, I've been kicking around painting my A, if i do, it's black. It will look in some ways very much like yours, which I really dig.. Copying is the closest thing to flattery. If I do paint it...it's in honor of that fine A of yours..uhhh was yours....so awesome it went to a hamber... Like others have said ..your A .... my favorite on the HAMB... Ken
Right, I only operate on the Scooter scale so stars have no value. I keep track of Chris' stuff pretty well and as creepy and that is and sounds I can say that the roadster is extensive but I feel like it's way ahead of where his '33 Coupe was. That thing was pretty rough and this roadster seems to be in good shape just disassembled. The good thing about Chris is that he probably won't have much in the way of sheet metal repair and fab work because he seems to have this trading thing down pat. I am sure what ever he needs he will stumble upon or trade up for to get it. He's lucky like that. I will say as mush as I am going to miss that Coupe, this might be the baddest '34 Roadster that ever existed.....well if he can figure out how to make it cooler then that red one at the E Vs. W run with the chromed Colombia. That thing was pretty much perfect!
