Shelly, the Model A Lady, at Ford Barn site, www.fordbarn.com, announced today that she is closing the site at the end of April. For those of us that run stock or modified flatties this was a great resource for flathead information. The HAMB is a very good site for overall hot rod stuff but there are some old timers on the Barn that really know their stuff when it comes to flatheads. Hopefully some one will step up and take of like Shelly did ten years ago when the originator of the Barn let it go. Bummer, it's a good site
Maybe Atomic Industries needs to go into aquisition mode! Man, that sucks. I HATE their format though.
I see it's been a few years since Shelly posted over here but she is a member of the HAMB and runs the best flathead site on the web. I'm not a flathead guy but I did learn a lot about them reading what is posted on her forum. Sad to see it go.
Bummer if it closes. I learned a hell of a lot about flathead V8s on there, and very soon I was hoping to be learning about Model As and bangers on there.
Ditto here on that one! The HAMB and the Barn are my two favorite sites. The Barn has it's own culture that would be nice to see preserved.
Daamn! I was on there earlier today and it looked robust and healthy to me. Talkin to a guy about a 1950 era Green Book and how much for it.
Figures, I don't find out about the site until it is announced it will no longer be around. Guess I better read up while I can...
Son of a bitch! I got my 32 wishbone, 40 Ford brakes, model A subrail extensions, 34 Ford truck bed, and a whole host of other parts from that site. This really sucks!
I've always enjoyed the FordBarn and wish Shelly the best. There are a lot of great folks over there and some amazing tech too. I've bought and sold there with zero problems too.
Bummer. I found a supercharged flatty on there for a real reasonable price. Got some great answers to inquiries too.
Oh man,,sad to see Shelly giving up the barn,,,great web site and I have learned a lot, bought and sold,,,HRP
Shaggy, I already turned Ryan on to it and let's hope something good happens. It's a great site adn I will certainly miss it if it goes.
Not a huge fan of their format either but I do like that site for the information. I think the format issue is more my issue of not familiarizing myself. It's a shame if that resourse is lost. Hmmm, Ford Barn Journal???
After a long search I found my '32 ford door lock cylinder there. Hope someone picks up the site and runs with it.
