Anyone go to the Nitro Nite of Fire drag races in Sacramento on 6/27? It was pretty cool. They had a special event there called "cackle fest" where they brought out a whole bunch of old historic front engine drag racers and push started them and made sort of a parade out of them going the wrong direction down the track with all of them running on nitro at night! My camera sucked at night, but here's a few pics I took during the day. It's always great seeing nitro cars run at night. They also had jet funny cars, nitro funny cars, nitro dragsters, pro modifieds, and lots of cool stuff. They had a guy who did a wheelie all the way down the track in a Chevy Apache (or was it a Chevy Cameo?) with a rear mounted blown big block mounted in the bed with flames coming out of the headers. It was worth the 2 hour drive to spend the whole day and night there!
