Man!!! When I first started to read the last post, I thought you had sold it! You scared the ever livin' hell outta' me!!! LOL!!! I understand about knowing your limit's.
I’m not sure you need to hear this from me, but that thing looks killer! Love the tail end of that car. As I said before, no need to paint it, but I understand the need for shiny- ness. Sometimes in those technical mechanical posts, I am not even sure you guys are talking English, but it is an education. I am rooting for you, go man go. I’m going back for more now, carry on.
That one is going in a Olds Gasser,,,but not mine. That engine lost a couple of rod bearings. Doing a repair and some up grades to it. Hopefully I can pick him up some on his ET's.
I'm not going to be able to make another gasser race till September!! I've been YouTubeing videos to keep me motivated!!!
Saturn, I have a question for you. I have a pair of C heads off of a 68 I believe 442. They will need everything, guides, seats, pivots and rockers. Are they worth putting the money into? I love the car so far. Also the engine details are phenomenal!
Depends on what your willing to spend. I've seen times it cost more to build a set of stock castings. Compared to buying a set of new aluminum heads. I've always been one to try to save the old cast iron if possible. The old stuff is getting harder to find.
Got some progress pics today. They are getting some of the body panels ready to start making molds for the fiberglass replacements!
If it took you 6 months, I would have been at it 2 yrs. When it comes to any kind of body work. I can create myself more work what is really needed. Last car me and a friend painted, took 9 months. In the end we sanded it back down and I payed a friend of my Dad's to spray it! Body and paint is just not my strong suit.

Nice back-cut on the valves, when I was racing NHRA Stock we spent a ton of time on different valve cut angles and back cuts measuring the flow at low lift, and we custom made valve bowl cutters that were up to 7 different angles and made the cut look like a toilet bowl, lot's of H.P. in proper R&D.
