Nailed this down yesterday and it can be considered official: Eighth Annual Run What Ya Brung Nostalgia Drags, Car Show & Swap Meet
    SATURDAY SEPT 14, 2013
Silver Dollar Raceway http://www.silverdollarraceway.com/ Reynolds, GA
This track is run by some fine folks who sorta let us do our own thing as far as car show and swap meet. All anybody pays is general admission and a racer's fee if you race. Last year IIRC it was $10 admission and $10 to race. There are no fees for show or swap meet spots, just pick a spot.
No trophies in car show, but who knows? the thing is growing slowly but surely. Camping Sat. night is free and we do have a party, c'mon out and join he fun this year.
More to come later. Watch this thread for further details. Comments, questions, and bumps invited!!!!!!!!!

That orange "A" coupe appears to be running the same headers as mine on roadster. If he's back this year I'll ask what sound reduction inserts he's using in his.

  12. Well, like I have a reason to start playing with this old J and try to work out the kinks!!!

If you get right down to it, Reynolds isn't far from Columbus and Phenix city metro area either. Also Albany and Americus are nearby.
Anybody know how to contact people in those areas that enjoy these nostalgia events?

Gotta Check it out with our benefactor, but we should have a large charcoal grill for communal use, just bring a bag of charcoal "for the cause" cause that big sucker does burn some charcoal. Do not bring matchlite charcoal, just regular, cause we'll already have it lit and the matchlight is not only unnecessary, but can put a petro taste in your food when added while food is cooking. And over the course of a couple hours on Sat after races are over that thing is cooking something for somebody for a long while. Just add more charcoal and keep cooking!
It's always a great time, everybody brings a load of good food and beverages of your choice, you meet people who you've read their names here on HAMB, etc. Just a good, laid back time for all.
