I like your floor stands. I made myself a set a couple of years ago.

Keeping with the wishbone mounts looks I made a steering box stiffener for the outside of the frame. 2BFA552A-39EB-4115-8D92-8F10CC3BE2BD.jpeg 5A203D2E-79E3-4755-8DF1-00760F5375B9.jpeg

I made the decision for final tail light placement, I had made a bracket to hang the 39 Chevy taillights but really didn’t dig the look. I ended up cutting into the sub rail and raising them up so they are not floating in midair. I tacked my bracket and the awesome welder that I am stuck my wire to the bracket so I pulled it off with the taillight hanging solid( at least I thought) I turned around to grab my dikes to snip the wire and then I hear glass breaking. Shit happens it was a repo taillight thank goodness. If it would have been a nos part I would have cussed. BCEBBD5A-4BA6-4218-ABBF-CD83A96E4AD3.jpeg

That does look better, but I still like the brackets you built. 59D1EDA1-D79C-460D-895A-B8BF323FA238.jpeg

Rusty looking at that tailight did you consider taking the lens and assembly minus the bucket and center it right in the panel you notched...it seems just right for it...one other option is you could run it similarly in the crushed panel above that lower sub panel...it looks all right notched in as you have it now and I know you've been racking the brain working to that then this Stogy guy comes along...:D...I will say your move tweaked my thought process...

Them poor old cars sure took a beating...

Yeah I took the lenses off and put them on the sub rail but to me it looks cheesy and I took the easy way out to mount them. The whole reason I picked these lights was because of the bullet shape. As far as putting them in the panel below the deck lid, everyone does that and I don’t want this car to be just another T roadster.

The partial bucket peaking out looks good in your notched install...and it compliments the Headlight shape...

I went to our local end of summer swap meet Sunday and was given this 15” steering wheel
(anyone recognize what it came out of?) I used it as a donor ring for my banjo wheel. A 17” wheel in a T is to big so the 15 is going to be much better. DE17132B-31E3-4699-844E-48AB2291F2CB.jpeg 9EDD8783-0C53-4EEE-B250-DEC81AC4BD92.jpeg

3-1/2 hours to drill, tap, adjust and grind to fit the windshield frame. Bought the after market frame from speedway and it didn’t want to fit for shit, the frame was wider than the posts so I used a die grinder to open up the tapered pockets where the frame attaches. The sides of the frame didn’t match the taper of the posts so I took out the inner skin that holds the rubber and ground the posts to match the frame. It actually looks better to me slimming up the posts. I haven’t taken material from the back side of the posts yet but you can see I had to take about 3/8” off the bottom. 8B71741B-9A16-4F20-906A-6EF86AEE592A.jpeg 4648AEDC-C7FB-4050-8A16-F7BD1206826D.jpeg DEF450CB-1F98-49BC-BA92-11C7128D88A1.jpeg

Started rebuilding the wheel. I added two pieces of music wire to the area I had to open up to get the spokes on the new ring. I epoxied the wire into the ring hoping that the extra wire will help hold the epoxy that I will use to build up the ring. I also wrapped tape around the spokes to create a dam for the epoxy to butt up to. 871B1789-F5D4-4E9F-8AFC-C7B2D968A17A.jpeg 20F037FD-FB3F-4B42-A10E-5ADC09B3A902.jpeg

Any updates on the wheel? I'm curious to see how your tape dam held up with the epoxy.

I'll include the pictures I took of it as well. I love how it turned out. I haven't seen the engine in person since September 2021 when the heads were off 20221023_152526.jpg 20221023_152536.jpg 20221023_152550.jpg 20221023_152600.jpg

I received some photos and info on the motor from a person that grew up in my pops home town. He was friends with the son of one of the original owners. This is the car that the motor was in and set an ahra record. 5DEE38ED-B324-4E3C-A200-BDFAB2308C8E.jpeg 824192E6-391C-4CDF-9882-18B7193F7D0F.jpeg 8F57C404-F552-411C-8E39-4E432ECA11C6.jpeg 62330149-7052-4984-9F30-1903BACFF229.jpeg
