That body is in prime condition......I'm jealous! Might I suggest going with a Model A frame or fabbing your own out of 2x3 rectangular steel. Those 'T' frames are very light duty and might pose a problem when banging T5 gears behind the flatty! Also, I'm running an 8" out of a Maverick in mine. Perfect fit!

It’s getting a flathead and will be boxed so at this point I’m thinking the T frame will work.I built my single seater based on a t frame and it’s very ridged once I boxed it.

T frames are stronger than most people think. A lot of early altereds used them.Back in the mid '60s I picked up a project, Topolino body on T rails setup for an Olds. Wish I still had it.

For being dug out of a creek bed and sitting all those years, that body's really nice! Glad you folks found it to breath life back into it!

Rusty, A couple thoughts about using a T frame.
Boxed, probably plenty strong, but really narrow. We widened mine to make more room and give a little more support. Here's a few 20210831_152020.jpg HPIM01881.JPG 2004(Oct)-5 0011.jpg 2004(Oct)-5 0031.jpg pics to maybe give you some ideas.

I’ve been collecting parts, found a set of windshield post here on the hamb. Picked up two T radiator shells an early bronco 9”, a set of 28/9 model A head lights and a set of 35/6 rear bones.
This afternoon after work I got one of the windshield posts chopped. I’m just going to run the lower windshield frame like on my modified. I cut the post at the first knuckle and then used part of the top knuckle to fill the top. FFB54B92-F54A-47E0-A1C3-BEBA0E290A58.jpeg 63579248-CBD6-48B7-94D8-60BEC3D2A0DF.jpeg

Been gathering a few more pieces, a friend of mine gave me a T frame if I give him all of my cast off stuff I’m not going to use. We will add length to the original frame to get room for the flathead so this is what we will use. F0D0D21A-50A2-43A5-B545-3330FD990691.jpeg E557413E-F6CA-4B85-AF3A-606E01DACF32.jpeg

AMBR.jpg img_32_std.jpg The Mumford T is channeled, but he was able to get the seat base nice and low by keeping the frame rails
contoured to the outside of the body. It's got a rolled body pan, but I can picture a frame in it's place.ATTACH=full]5186588[/ATTACH]

Nice find! Always fun to watch a 26 - 27 build, so many subtle differences from Ford and the builders.

That’s definitely low. I’m not building an AMBR car so I’ll be cutting down the original seat riser.

I took the riser out yesterday after work. From the floor to the front edge of the riser in stock form was 7-1/2”, after cutting it I got it down to 5-1/4”.
That should get us down in the cockpit a bit better.
Also received our cornhusker flathead to t5 adapter. Thanks Gary! B828F6E1-C7AF-499A-A952-39D31A9C7E94.jpeg

If you need to lower your seat a little more (or just thicker padding) you could do something like this. DSC02597.JPG

Getting the cart ahead of the horse but what the heck, I ruffed out a seat base so I can sit in the car and make engine noises. 3F040283-02C5-4490-A0A6-B59BA6FCF88B.jpeg FAD4D20D-1BF1-4410-AE29-565976851C33.jpeg

That's actually one of the first things I think should be done when starting a build! Ergonomics and inspiration are critical!

You can easily gain a little more leg room by removing the panel behind the seat base...Varoom-Varoom DSC00585.JPG DSC00587.JPG DSC00588.JPG

Thanks Blake, I mocked it up with the panel but I could easily remove it and add wood to the back of the seat frame. I’m only 5’10” on a good day and pops is 5’6” so it might stay.
T’s are definitely made for short folks.

Been messing around with more parts that pops had in his stash down at his shop. He had this spring but it was strange because most of the leaves were not centered or shaped on the ends. I cut the leaves down to center them and put some shape to the ends. I still need to reverse the eyes on the main leaf. 821E3DA8-8701-462E-93CA-DDA43A4AFD07.jpeg I also started making rear axle mounting plates for our 35/6 radius rods. 955DD79B-D7E0-440D-9FDD-A8711A54230F.jpeg 55493E9E-7CE7-459C-B710-757B3A5CA801.jpeg
