Hot Rods Rusty has a new project- father son build , 26 T roadster!

Air cleaners are powder coated and done. Also built a shift lever from an old 37 toploader, had it coated and capped with an old coal slag shift knob.

I added a short throw shifter and needed to cover what’s coming up thru the floor. I had an old 50’s era horn laying around so I took the tin cover off it and made an aluminum ring for the floor. I went junking at the local salvage yard and found a rubber boot from an old Datsun truck but the hole for the shifter was bigger than my swan neck shifter so I turned an aluminum piece to mate the two together.

Unfortunately, no I don't.

 

Fortunately mine is in real good condition.

 

Very nice. I can’t believe how rare these damn lids are. I’ve had this car for a year and a half and have not found one yet.

 

You may need to resort to fabricating one. Yeah, seems they were all tossed away or repurposed over the years.

 

That’s where I’m at at the moment. In a year and a half I’ve had one lead on one and it was folded in half.

 

After talking with brass works, making a physical model of what I needed and sent to California I was on a five month wait/ build schedule. Today the wait was over and the radiator was delivered. It’s a damn fine work of art.

Are you planning to use springs or other cushioning mounts?

 

Yep, using stock model T hardware. Got it mounted last night but didn’t take pictures yet.

 

I got the radiator mounted and the tin hung on it.

 

I spun up a coil mount the last few days. I’m a terrible machinist but not to bad at making stuff like this because it’s not precision machining. To me if it looks good that’s all that matters
