Added about 6” to the end of the collector so I could dump the exhaust between the wishbone mounts. I will also be able to hide the header flange under the car.

Building a set of rims for the back of the roadster. I took the center out of a really rusty 46-8 rim, the hoop was pitted beyond repair. I also have a set of 60s early 70s f100 wheels that are one inch wider than the stock 46-8 wheels and are an exact match to drop the old center in.

 

The 16" F-100's have got to be hard to find nowadays. They are 5.5" wide?

 

I have one built and ready for sand blasting and powder coating. I don’t know if a 1” wider wheel matters it looks stock from the outside and will tuck the tire closer to the body. I guess it’s my thing My T modified has 2” wider 35 spoke wheels, my single seater has 2” wider wide fives and my kids rambler we made an 8” wide rear wheel to accept the stock rambler hubcap.

 

Been jumping around like a fart in a fryn pan, doing a little bit here and a little bit there. I have the headers all fabricated and having a buddy tig them together so the welds look good and not my chicken shit welds.
I also built a lower radiator/grill panel. I made a few brackets to mount the brake lines to the frame, keeping with the theme of the wishbone mounts and steering box frame reinforcement. Also fabricated some exhaust pipes that will go over the rear axle. I made this little jig to line up exhaust pipe and tack it together. I’ve seen them online but this little contraption cost me nothing and took all of 20 minutes to built.

 

I’ve been kicking around what kind of air cleaner to run. The other day I measured a flathead oil canister and it was a perfect size across so I did some cutting and fitting. I have to run it by pops to see what he thinks, if he likes it I will build two more. I ordered some stainless steel screen to fill the holes and probably powder coat the cleaner.

 

I have two built. My buddy has a bunch in his stash so I’ll grab one from him for the third. Had my buddy tig up my headers and blend them out. Now off for ceramic coating.

 

Love the air cleaners but maybe a flatter top? Spun aluminum?

I have 90% of my brake lines made. Lot of time spent and not much looks to be done.
