Hey guys! Just curious if anyone has had experience with selling or buying a V8-60 lately. I’ve got a running V8-60 that I’d like to sell. I know they are kind of unique and not many around. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
value is always determined by what the buyer is willing to pay..and its never the same in a different situation
A couple of years ago, I bid on a stuck V8-60 in a local auction. It was real grubby, but complete, down to the transmission and Stromberg 81. I dropped out at $200, and it finally sold for $800 plus commission. I know "value is always determined by what the buyer is willing to pay", but that really doesn't help someone like you. I just thought I'd add a little "real world" experience.
I'm not much of an expert on 60's. I can't see; is that a "tin-side"? do you know what year it is? I believe the 1940 V8-60's are considered the best.
A few years ago I had 2 V8 60's complete motors, don't know if they ran or not. They came with a set of Aluminum finned heads, Aluminum intakes and carbs, a few Eddy Myer parts. Put on E-Bay and got 3K for the lot. The winner e-mails me and said please UPS me the Aluminum parts well boxed and my secretary will call a shipper to pic up the block & misc. stock parts. A local shipper came, 3 years later I get a call from the shipper saying I have 2 Apple Bins that were never shipped because of lack of a destination. I picked the motors and parts up and later traded them off. I truly believe the winner JUST wanted the speed equipment and not the rest.........................................................
I sold one about 3 years ago that was not running, but turned over easily and had 32,000 miles on it for $700 including transmission....
Give you 3 musketeers bar comb bottle of old harpers beef jerky ball point pen flashlight batteries. 5 bonus points if you got the movie reference Seriously, toss it on that big auction site with a reserve of the least you'll take and let the public decide.
I’d be offended if anyone didn’t get that reference. “I lost my ID I’m a flood” Thanks for the input guys! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
