Anyone one here besides me collect rubber tire ashtrays ?
Yep, kind of sickness. I always dug them. Especially the tractor treaded ones. I'm kind of hillbilly.
I don't collect them but I have 1
Ain't nothin' wrong with hillbilly.
I got 3 in an all automotive garage sale, they're cool.
I have 1 and don't know anyone who smokes.
I have about 115 , some very different & rare
Got one I have been dragging around for 50 years. use it to put screws in while working on things.
I must be just out of the loop. You guys have any pictures of them? Id like to see 'em.
I will take some pictures & post them tomorrow
When I was an adolescent, in the '50's, the father of a girl I went to school with made fairly large scale models of sprint cars, or whatever they were called then, and used the tires from the ashtrays for his models. I always thought that was pretty cool.........
I remember those! My Grandpa always had a couple at his house. Does anyone still make them?
There is a sale coming up in June 4 in Paris Ontario Canada that has a bunch of Rubber tire ashtrays in the listing.
This should be the link. It is through Jim Anderson Auctions
mine is a BF Goodwrench Silvertown tire.
Had some over the years. One that I had never seen before was the hard rubber, solid truck tire.
Know a few that do. I used to collect cigarettes, 'till they started collecting me.
Funny. I don't even remember where I got mine. Good tread still.
I have my grandfathers tractor tire one.I rember it as a kid sitting on his deck at his chevy dealership. It was always with in reach and full of ashes.
I got this one at a swap meet last year. Always remembered the one my grandfather used to have. Goodyear Allweather 'Super Cushion' 6.70 x 15.
They seem to go for about $15 around here, but i can't speak as to their rarity or true value. What makes on hotter than another?
I have a Firestone deluxe Champion bias ply one, good tread too .......did they make WW ones? I'd love one of those.
B.F. Goodwrench??? LOL...
Hey this is a "traditional" Web site!! No radials!!lololol
I think I have the one my grampa had around here somewhere,I grabbed it when we cleaned out his house after he and grandma died in 87 but cant remember what I done with it.
I have been wanting one for awhile now and don't even smoke .They should be a Must Have for the Man Cave .(I hate that term)
i have 1. the tire says Firestone steel belted radial 721 , so i'm guessing it's from the 70's~80's?????
I have my grandfathers, its going to ride on the dash of his truck........if I ever finish it.
I thought I was the only one!
AAHHHHHH yea I typed without looking or thinking .
I don't collect them. But I use my (O/T) GoodYear Eagle VR50 ashtray everyday.
