    One month away from today....
    https://www.rpmnationals.com/location
I am going as a spectator, driving the '31 A banger powered Cabriolet.
Leaving on the 17th from the rock pile here that I live on and taking a few days to drive and smell the roses along the way....
I guess we need a Roll Call

Oh...thank you for the encouragement...that is my hope as well...to cornicle the drive and stops along the way. I am going to dial back the push to get to and from my destination so I can see more along the way.
I will definitely post lots of photos of the event (cars especially)

for a bump.....anyone else for the roll call? I think @Savage Coupe is trying to get a transmission back together and @patina steve is showing up with a new car.....banger powered
Leaving this next Wednesday before sun up....I believe the Cabriolet is mostly ready.
I've been working on the top so that it will stay together hopefully....it is 60 year old sail cloth...
the southwest climate and sun hasn't been easy on it and last year the trip to the Roc strong side winds and a bull hauler going the opposite way tore it ....the rest of the trip with top down in 45 degree morning weather sure made my jaw tight.
A canvas mending kit repaired the rip and it survived the trip home...mostly
I'd have replaced it but other things have taken priority....
I've got the mending kit loaded and a spare 6V fuel pump, fresh oil change, a roll of non-skid...air in the tires
    I should be ready

Just put this up tonight. Oil and maybe a wrench to some fasteners. Leaving Friday at some point.

IMG_20240915_084132555.jpg maybe this is why the driver side headlamp is dimmer than the passenger side....

  14. Since it’s local I have to go. I’ll be spectating.

Back together and washed. Rebuilt transmission, working 8 days a week and taking care of 2 little ones life is busy! Feeling rushed. Not ready to leave for California next week. IMG_6822.jpeg

I am spectating as well. I didn't think it would be wise to jeopardize my ride back home....
my thought that if you put on an event....you need spectators too
    See you there

Good looking forward to meeting you in person

The plan is I-40 to Barstow on to Bakersfield and then 58 to San Luis Obispo so no Las Vegas, NV
I am leaving Wednesday early morning for three travel days It is 950+ miles. I have the first stop/visit with friends in Holbrook, AZ who used to own the Western Auto there
A stop in Flagstaff and Ashfork for additional visits. Seligman is a must with a burger at the Snow Cap Cafe then detour to Kingman via old 66 thru Peach Springs....I have never been over this section.
From there it is freelance with stops....I'm trying to make it a more relaxed travel schedule than a push to and from

it is reassuring that I have an offer for roadside assistance....
    see you there

Yes, thank you and I understand that there is a car gathering on the streets on Friday evening of the cars and folks attending the RPM Nationals the next day.
Getting close to launch time and just need to finish packing the car.....I want to believe that everything is in order
    See you soon

If you make your way over to the coast go to Old West Cinnamon Rolls in Pismo Beach. Worth the drive. IMO

I will be doing things in the area Sunday...I will keep this in mind as cinnamon rolls are a weakness right up there with ice cream and old cars...

Yes thanks and see how you do...that photo is enough to get the excitement of anticipation building....we shall enjoy the show and races...I'll say howdy for sure
Best of racing luck to you....

    about 14 hours from departure
