The show weekend started off for my dad (povertyflats' favorite brother in law) and myself heading to Chaotic Customs in Mulvane KS to drop Dad's 66 Pickup off and pick up his 39 Chevy pickup. Then we made it to finkd (Jeff Myers' Premier Body & Paint in Arkansas City, KS) to pick up my newly painted wheels for my car. On the way home we stopped by Rocky Burris' shop for the annual pre-KKOA cookout.

    Here's Rocky's wild truck.

And a nice Ford someone brought by.

The KKOA Leadsled Spectacular now starts on Thursday, although many vendors were set up, and the cars were sparse, I think Thursday is going to become more and more popular for this show.

    Here's Wizzard23's (Harry's) T

Some very kool cars were cruising the park on Thursday, the color on this 58 was great.

My mentor, a legend, my friend Doug Reed's Toad.

Later that evening we all gathered at Bright Built Hot Rods for some food and hanging out (and air conditioning). This open house turns into a terrific car show in and of itself.

KKOA Hall of Famer Hub Harness' El Camino finished in 83 and basically untouched since.

Todd C. Jones, taking a photo of a kool Buick! Thanks Todd for the new shirt design, I can't say it enough!

That's it for part 1, I need to head out to run errands, there will be much much more later! Click any photo to go to the whole gallery and go to my website in my signature to order a new Todd Jones designed T-shirt!

    See you at a show,

    sooo kool
    [IMG]

This Kopper Kart inspired Chevy would look great in my garage.

Steve's Chevy truck is one of my favorite local vehicles, I've recently shot it for a possible magazine feature. He built it with the thought of what if a drag team built a parts truck in the early 60's, 327 with dual 4's on a high rise intake & fender dump headers make this parts truck a real scooter.

That's it for the Thursday night coverage. Next post will start the Friday events!

    See you at a show,

    Travis

Drank alot of beer and partied til 2:00 fri and sat but still not too much fun for a man of my vintage. Hope to see everyone next year if the venue can hold it. I think we met this weekend, I am the big fat guy with the camera (and a dorky hat by the time I got sunburnt).

This weekend I will be delivering a truck to Chaotic Customs and picking another one up, then I'll see if I have time to hit the WFO show in Augusta. I have to be in Herington at 5pm for a company banquet for the day job so it's a tight schedule.

Sounds like Aaron Lawrence of Fast A.L.'s Upholstery will be doing the interior in this Merc soon. I believe he said this was an Eldon Titus chop on a car that's just never been finished? Correct me if I'm wrong.

There's Aarons' 54 there with Krobe's Fastback behind. TwoTallOkie's booth is behind the two of them.

Aaron had to re-make one of the Vibrasonic's door panels after this one got damaged, I was honored when he asked me to sign the panel along with all of these legends. I am not worthy all I did was capture some photographs of the finished car. Thank you again Aaron for including me.

TexasHotRods (Jeff) brought up his beautiful 36 (?) Plymouth Highboy hot rod. Turns out that he and his wife are friends with some old family friends of ours, it's a small world after all.

The quality of Kustoms and Hot Rods were some of the best I've seen. Be sure to check
out www.royboyproductions.com for all of the event coverage. Travis does a great job
covering an event. I will be placing an order today...

For the guys that didn't go you missed a kool show.
