I’ve been lucky enough to attend all of the Starliner events so far. Since I’ve started spending the weekend at the host hotel with all of the out of towners this has become my favorite event of the
Mickey and the whole Stray Kat Kustoms crew put on a heck of an event here. The Kansas Aviation Museum offers a great backdrop but the Starliner weekend starts on Friday Morning at 10am when we start the Garage Krawl. After arriving a bit late on Thursday I took a couple of shots out in the parking lot.

Then it was time to catch some shut eye and get up for the 10am Garage Krawl.

This rare beauty was once owned by Doris Day.

This vintage kustom went through a few shops and some magazines back in the old days and it’s being brought back to life at Rocky’s shop.

Then it was time for a stop at Alternative Chrome Creations.

My friend Joe was kind enough to give me a ride all day in this gorgeous 54 Chevy.

Joe’s place was the last stop on the Garage Krawl this year and it didn’t take long for a crowd to fill in. Lucky for us this was the perfect garage to gather a crowd at.
I’m not sure how much work Joe get’s done now that he’s got this great bar in the shop…

Although this Ford Panel is for sale.

When you add a great big bar to the shop you need a storage shed next to your shop for what used to be where the bar is now, so why not make it look like a kool old gas station.

Shane Z recently did this mural.

Joe has this old hood out for everyone to sign.

My ride for the day was this beautiful 54 Chevy

A bit of a different look.

    This lil Falcon is perfect.

Back at the host hotel the Lonely Knights out of Colorado Springs were busy fixing up some dinner for everyone. Big Rich and company really know how to make my kinda dinner party.

    Okay, sorry for that.

When the chow line opened up everyone was ready. There’s as much kustom history in this line as in many kustom halls of fame.

When it started raining I didn’t feel like getting wet while getting my tripod, so these were handheld and edited from there.

Thanks for covering some of these smaller shows, Travis. Some of the car owners have really captured the essence of "traditional" but would never be seen outside their home state without guys like you who photograph and then publish these pix. The yellow shoebox ragtop, the primered '52-'54 ragtop, the Chevy fastback and the really nice Chevy hardtop you rode around it are really great examples of the way cars really were back in the day. From what I can see these guys took the time and made the effort to get it right. I like that.

Thanks! Many of these folks drove from out of state to be at this one. The Stray Kat guys like to put miles on their cars but some of them get lost in the shuffle at large shows since they are simple and clean. I'm lucky to get to hang out with this crowd, thanks again!

Over night some storms moved in to the area and didn’t really leave until about sun up. For anyone already in Wichita or coming from north of the KS-OK border the rain was a non-issue, for our friends that live in OK and had not come up yet it slowed some down and kept others at home altogether. The 2014 Starliner may have been a touch down on car count due to this, I didn’t see the final numbers but as you can see, some great cars were in attendance.
