After a quick drivers meeting,everybody started heading out...

If you had to pick someone COOL to hang with all day....JustplainJ would have to be at the top of the list! Always drives something cool and keeps me grounded,by putting me in my place when I get out of control,haha! Plus his little girl,Jilli reminds of what's good in the world...bubblegum,lollipops,sweet smiles and innocence.

 

Steve must have been speeding! Cause I swear he was in the middle of the frame when I shot this...

 

Who knew Mazooma had such a cool set of wheels! Used to seeing him with a camera...not a car!! haha! Great seeing you Mazooma...

had a great time yesterday.. until we left.. on the way home my oil pressure gauge line busted inside my car..oil EVERYWHERE!!! and people wonder why they call me BadLuck! heres a few pics we took..

hahaha yup.. that boy loves the camera!! had a great time hanging out.. I was going to come back for the night cruise.. but obviously a little bit of your "Exxon Valdez" vibe rubbed off on me on the freeway, so i couldnt! Did you go back?

 

We stayed til about 7pm,ate,then made one more pass and went home. Scotty(Sloppyseconds) told us that after 6pm,they let you make one pass,then tell you to leave.

 

Years ago- the cruise was at night. We'd cruise till midnight. Then the idiots spoiled it by throwing shit at your car like marshmellows, fruit, tortillas & shooting cans of silly string at the cars.

Maybe someone could confirm the story or myth- the story goes that in the 70's, someone fired up a FED & drove it down the parade route several blocks late that night.

 

Central AZ isn't SoCal, and we didn't hit 81 degrees ... only got to a sunny 79, but I drove the s**t out of the 49 Fleet today regardless!

I think I would have heard of a story like that, but you never know.
I do know that in front of Bob's Big Boy on Colorado Blvd. there were many times when some "not so street legal" cars made banzai runs in front of the restaurant.
One Falcon was towed to the gas station next door, unhitched and the young rich kid got in and crashed it right in front of about 100 people, me included. Then he ran and hid...like that would do any good. It was the ex-Dick Day Falcon. Dick worked for Hot Rod Magazine.
The Pirate Corvette used to pull the parachute in front of the diner.
The Chevado wheelstander was a regular cruiser.
....but a funny car? Maybe...but I never heard that one.
(a funny car showed up on Crenshaw Blvd. late one night for the street races, but that's a story for another day....)

 

I cruz'd it once in the 80's. Watched some Jack Ass put a rag on fire to some guy's car. I left and never been back for an eve cruz again.
