Assuming you found the photos online? Petersen Publishing archive?
Wonder if whatever publishing conglomerate owns the rights to the photos now could (or would) provide glossy photo prints, without the watermark? That would be a cool addition.
Congrats on the "Tri-Five Trifecta"!! :)

O yes I remember Mark, he worked for the telephone company, wanted a car/truck upholstered, thought the cost to high, bought a a machine and kept VERY busy at his "hobby". Did a lot of jobs for people in Longview. I thought HE WAS THE BEST AROUND.

Anybody here know if Mark is still around..? He was older than me, I am 78..so far...

That thing must get killer gas mileage, 26mph at 0 rpm! Good to see it driven.

Didn't realize until now that you were the lucky winner. I was following that one on bringatrailer and the comments that were made on the site just show how uninformed some people are. I was going to bid on it but had to rethink it, no place to put it. Fantastic price you got it for also.
    Congratulations.

I thought it was a bargain. The weird thing about bring a trailer is that they never tell anyone when the reserve has been met until after the auction is over. I thought for sure the reserve would have been much higher...I didn't have room for it either but I didn't let that stop me!!

  22. Hope you can get the tach working. Because, where would you ever find another? Looks like it has 2 adjustable pointers, that's interesting.

I wonder if Mark has a card system like the old libraries had to find stuff.

No, I just wander aimlessly around until I find stuff. I do not have one of those tachs. I assume the problem is in the 60 year old batteries in the transmitter. I am currently looking for some Delco yellow battery caps that I know I had about 20 years ago....

I am not a big fan of radical customs but that one looks good and I should have one yellow Delco battery cap if I can find out where it is.

Ok I fixed the tach. First I removed the cover from the sun transmitter and found just what I thought I would. Lots of corrosion and missing batteries. Those batteries have been out of production for a long time. A few years ago I had bought an electronic tach driver called Tachmatch from a company called techno versions and had not used it so I decided to put it in this car 7278C9C0-07EA-49E0-9E25-A25F26684A1E.jpeg C89B1848-02B6-4B8E-8E90-0ACB83FCD854.jpeg

I mounted inside the original sending unit

I did the calibration per the instructions and put the cover back on 10A90BD1-A330-4217-BB3D-8D7F794BF3AB.jpeg

In a display case with a bunch of tachs.....

  30. Great solution, and you got it working. You may need a steering column seal.
