let me know what you think. i'm 19, so its the first car i've built from scratch. i think it came out okay..
thanks! heres another pic of the engine. i painted the fire wall with rattle cans and clear coated it....(i raised it up after i took these pictures... i went around the block and realized that i would have gotten hi-centered on an manhole cover if i wasnt going so fast.)
I think if you hit a piss ant it might be diasterous. Oh, and by the way why does "manhole cover" sound dirty to me?
...well, I'm going to say it. That thing is too damn low. Even raised a couple of inches, I think its still probably dangerous. Damn, whats the point? Yeah, I'm in a rotten assed mood today. MANHOLE MANHOLE MANHOLE! ha hahahaha... I like it except for your disreguard for the scrub line. I just don't think that's cool. Maybe its because I like gassers?....Or maybe I'm too old. You're 19 years old? damn! impressive. Rock on kid. TINGLER
Don't listen to 'em, kid. If it bottoms out, I bet you're smart enough, all on your own, to raise it more. Keep doin' what you're doin'... and ... Well done... JOE
Looks outta propportion to me. Kinda 'cartoony. Anyway, how's that 'y' adaptor work for your carbs? Might need one.
The thing that bothers me is the Ackerman. In the 3rd pic, the right front wheel looks way off where it should be. Looks like a white-knuckle ride. And I agree that it looks dangerously too low. Sorry kid. Just my .02. But I do applaud you for the "gitterdone".
This commin' from a guy that gets a nose bleed every time he climbs the step ladder to get in his gasser! All jokin' aside,,,just make damn sure it's safe to be out on the streets,,,we wouldn't want anything to through you into another HAMBer in the other lane! I wish my first hot rod looked as cool as yours,,,HRP
I think this hobby has reached a new low edit: to me the beauty of a well built car is inherently dependant upon it's functionality. if you can't get out the driveway, let alone around the block safely it fails the most absolute basic test.
Good job kid. Props on scaring the old farts by being "too low" and "ackerman" which only comes into effect when front wheels are turned away from center (usually at parking lot speeds). Go straight, go fast.
Killer stance and overall great job!! Just keep an eye out while driving so you don't destroy the grille shell.
My god I wish I was that talented at your age. I kinda like the look. I would have bobbed the bed alittle more. Have your radiator and shroud shortened at the bottom. Looks like a fun car but i agree with most here. Safety is a priority and your running dangerously too low. But your fab work is out of this world. Keep up the good work and make the next one more functional. Damn kids anyway... PJ
Very cool...outstanding effort coz we all know the work and dedication it takes. I typically do not give advise but I've been a little oversensitivce lately Get some ole greybeard friend to give it the once over for the obvious reasons...than go have some damn fun!
Ha haha...Hey, I don't have to worry about dragging on a piss ant. I haven't used a jack to work on my car since I went with the axle. I just crawl under it. Its also nice at a hot car show. I can crawl under the car and take a nap. Its very very practical. Again, GREAT JOB KID! I'm jealous of what you have accomplished. Drive it and have fun.
Reached a new low??? its been down for while. I personally like finished cars. Thats where the real talent is.
Looks cool man, are you gonna bring it to the "Paint and Primer" show on Labor Day weekend? Where in town are you? I'd like to come over and check it out! sled
thanks for the imput....and like i said, i raised it after i took the pictures....so it IS drivabe now..in fact its going to be my daily drive while i go through my plymouth.......
