I know it's been a long time but any progress on you car?

  4. Nothing too exciting.

I primed the top and put in the back glass...

I drove it for a while and then got sick of it looking like a quilt of primer spots...decided to take care of some of those details I'd been meaning to get to forever. Moved the holes for the bumper brackets and smoothed the recesses...

Made a splash pan and finished off the tail light openings with round rod (I filled in those gaps on the inside quarters too)...

Here's a close up....you can see the pieces I made to close the gaps under the housings...

    Spot blasted all the welds...

Then my friends Dave, Curtis, and Adam, all came over and helped me thrash on the body....stripped it to bare metal and started on body work on the quarters. We got it pretty close, but the deadline for Santa Maria was on us, so Adam sprayed it with a custom-mixed off-white epoxy...

Two days later, we were on the road to Santa Maria. Here it is at the show, early as fuck in the morning...

That was in May....I already have it apart again...

What is it about customs and 50's chevy pickups that go together? Not sayin' that my car is anywhere near the level of perfection that your's is. Just sayin maybe there is a trend....

Very cool! I like how you took the '49 ford quarter panel sweep and grafted into the chevy's quarters.

And when it was down to bare metal, I must say the body was amazingly solid and straight - really nice metal to work with. I was jealous.

  14. Hahaha!! Not even close, nor is it spooky........

    But it will be...
