Thanks for posting the photos Dan, I'll have to wait until the morning to look at the album but I know it will be worth the wait.

He sells prints guys and they are well worth his asking price.

Thanks Mr48Chev, Hamtown Al, cool37 and JRussel and thanks especially for the recommendation Robert (Mr48Chev). Still tons and tons to come - just being tied down by regular work.

    The master at work!

(A thousand pardons, Dan. I didn't mean to fish in your pond!
It was a privilege just to watch over your shoulder.)

This '36 may be one of my all time favorites, and it's owner built!
The two-piece windshield (cut-down '49 Ford) puts it in a class by itself. (Compare the cars in the two posts above.)

Mo - thanks for the pictures and comments - your presence and insights are always welcome and appreciated

lothiandon1940 - just look for a slightly overweight guy, carrying way too much junk (usually, though not the case here), wearing a knee pad and if it's hot out, a really goofy looking Aussie style green floppy hat.

Thanks Bruce - it was great meeting you as well.

    Sorry I missed you.
    Great work.
How long does it take from shot to finished product?

Thanks alfin32 - they vary quite a bit depending on how much I have to clean up and favorable the light was, among other things. Both of the 2 above took about 15 to 20 minutes each. I have spent as much as 2 hours on a single one when I am feeling insane and other times have banged them out in 5-10 minutes.

You're welcome, Paul, thanks. Thanks motoandy for stopping by - I auditioned for the part of Wilson too, but I wasn't tall enough :)

Insanely beautiful work. What lenses are you favoring for these shots?

Like all others have mentioned, thanks for sharing your art.

Thanks olscrounger, G Don (D.N.D.) and ken (kvisser). Ken, in answer to your question, I shot all of these with either a 24-70mm or 16-35mm for the more wide angle ones. In car show situations, I am mostly getting in pretty close, so I rarely use longer focal lengths. These focal lengths are all on a full frame camera, a Nikon D700 in this case.

Thanks for those great comments Ol Dawg, KevinS, hotrd32 and bonesy. KevinS - there are definitely more pics of Willys and other gassers coming. hotrd32 - I learned the lesson about not having a knee pad the hard way - had nerve damage to my knee that lasted a couple years after kneeling on hot pavement during our NSRA show in Pueblo.

bonesy - I just wanted to say how great the photo coverage of the Hot Rod Hill Climb by you and your son was. I was planning on being there but ended up being very ill. I would have loved to see it and photograph it (of course) and meet you finally.

Great. I own the Willys and love your pictures so I am looking forward to seeing more shots of it that you took. I saw you taking pictures everywhere we were. It would be interesting to know how many total pictures that you took over the days of the event.

    Thanks again!

You're welcome Kevin. Which of the Willy's was yours? I may or may not have more decent ones of your car. I do have a few different Willys yet to come for sure. I don't know the exact number of shots I took, because I do bracket my shot a lot so there are nowhere near as many different shots as there are shots - if that makes any sense. I took somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,200-2,500 total.
