Does anyone have any pics the can posted. I am not looking for the car hauler type something like the Fageol in the newest Classic Trucks or Custom Classic Trucks, which ever it was. Thanks
Ive posted this pic before but here it is again anyways.... I stole it off of some website (whose ???), I think it was taken at the Louisville Nats in 1972 or so...
Also, you may have missed it, but there was a thread about my flatbed yesterday.... Here is the LINK: VON TINGLER'S FLATBED on the HAMB. There some pics on there... I don't think too many people are going to post pics. The reason I say that is because I think HOT ROD flatbeds are few and FAAaaaaar between. I would love to be proven wrong....BUT..... I have only been able to find a few pics myself. I am interested in seeing some FLATBED pics as well. I'm thinkin' its the next "BIG THING"..... ha ha. Ohhhhhhh DR.J where are you?
Ya, DrJ has a nice flatbed GMC truck, I saw it at the BBQ. He did a great job on the bed, looks sweeet! Mike
The one on my web site looks like this.. http://www.nesstronics.com It's a Canadian 1941. The one pictured above is also a '41, but does not have any running boards. You can tell the difference between '40's and '41's by the wide "bull nose" at the front of the hood. '40 was narrow, '41 is wide. (I have heard it refered to as a "waterfall" nose piece) I refer to mine as a "Stake Bed Delivery." Although when the "sides" are removed, it's really a "flatbed." I made the sides permanent because the original sides rattled like crazy.
Hey Doc, how ya doing? Everytime I see a picture of your flatbed I want to ask, what kind of wood did you use? Also what kind of finish did you use? BTW - how's the shift lever work?
how about a flatbed with a flathead? this is 37express' 37 ford. note the super cool (and bad ass flathead) engine and the factory original bed with the factory cut out fenders. this is the bed that got totalled by a hit/run idiot. i think that by the time of the hamb drags last year he had replaced the totalled bed with a pickup bed. forunately the rest of the truck survived more or less unharmed.
Wow, that '37 is pretty neat lookin'. Here is another Flatbed truck. I don't know who belongs to this, again its another internet pic.
Here is a pic of my '58. This pic shows (not very well) the paint job on the bed. I painted the sides black to match the truck (which will be painted better) and I painted the top of the bed white. In my opinion, it really gives the bed an "old fashioned" look. ....still a BIG TIME work in progress....
Sorry I havn't seen the newest Classic Trucks or Custom Classic Truck magazine, but this is one of the baddest flatbeds that I know. Duke is the owner of the truck, and he voluntered his time and the truck to the local Tri-county tech school. He taught them how to chop a truck. Trust me the truck is a alot louder in person than in this picture. Happy Trails, Mick
