that's what l did for my son's tribute truck. a 1950 dodge and when it was sub-framed, put in a sbc and the distributor hit the firewall.

l've used the 1/2'' to 3'' square tubing shops use to ship jet ski's and snow mobiles in/on to make a floor ''cage'' for 30 dodge.

lamp for my man cave outta a 1955 house heater.

    Later

Someone on here (maybe in a tech week) posted up making backing plates from SS frying pans.

PS...I did the before mentioned "wheelbarrow recessed firewall" as well.

We're pretty much talking my whole car.lol. I used to get a lot of stuff from a local freight damage store. Several sheets of 20 gauge about 38" x 80", must have been backs for some metal cabinets. $1 a piece. Made my firewall and several other things.
The front of my rpu bed was part off an old baler. Also the top links in the suspension were a tie rod from a combine.

I don't have a picture but I picked up some recessed ceiling lights that would make killer velocity stacks. Also a lot of recycled stuff around the shop. I take apart a lot of old exercise equipment, metal furniture ect. for the metal. This welding cart made from exercise machine and shopping cart. Storage/work bench made from metal shelves, from the freight damage store. Roll around work cart from some kind of office thing.
also my rpu body has some metal from a Mal-Wart porch swing.
