    Anyone got part #'s???
    Or just the size. I think they're 11" x 2.5"
How about wheel cylinder kits while we're at it.
    THANKS!

I finally just went and hassled the guy at the local parts store (checker) into pulling out the dusty ol' book. I knew the shoes were 11" x 2" and we eventually found the Raybestos 228RR. Good news is they were only $15 for both rear wheels! I wonder if I bring in the cylinder #'s if they have those for cheaper too?!!
    Thanks,
    =NOAH=

You should be able to find most of the parts on the shelf, it's a basic Bendix system. Most of the stuff for my 49 was on the shelf. I've still got the wheel cylinder boxes some where in the garage, I'll try to find them and bet you the part #.

    So same part numbers.. interesting..

I don't think Fusick are the cheapest by any means, they seem to be about the same as steele rubber for seals and weather stripping - but $110 for two door seals on a pillarless car doesnt seem that cheap to me!

Overall they do a whole lot more stuff than I can find elsewhere so I guess if you want it you gotta pay..

    cool,
thanks for the parts numbers.a couple things to point out.i looked it up in my parts book, and it shows the front wheel cylinders are the same for 49-56,but shows they are different for 49-53 ,and 54-56 rear(i have a 56 book).although they may still work.i think the rear ones are the same up into the early 60s ones.from 54 at least.id have to look though.also it shows the numbers are being different for both shoes.usually that means they are diffenent.not just the number.the shoes are the same up till 64 for the rear.i just assumed the numbers you gave were for your 49.if im mistaken on any of this let me know.

You bet, those #'s were for my 49. But they seemed to carry right up to the late fifties.

    noah,

If you ask for 55 Olds rear wheel cyl's they will cost $45 bucks (NAPA)

55 Chevy's are the same exact cyl and they are only $10 bucks each! I just put a set in my 55 Olds rear end....same thing....GM

hell your probly right.im probly just sturring shit up again.just the fact that the rayb. number for the front is 228,and the back is 228PG makes me think the shoes are the same at least.i have a set of raybestos fronts in the box for my 56 that are 228.being the same number for the back with just a slight change one the end makes sence to me.where the wheel cylinders, and hoses resonable?
