    Did that car survive. If so it sure would be worth a lot of money today with the interest in moonshine cars and especially the greatest moonshine movie ever! One of Leno's latest shows featured Ray Evernham's all original '39 Ford coupe used in the Appalachian mountains back in the day.

    You’re right! My Uncle Carey did the Thunder Road stunts, and Hot Rod did a big article on him and the stunts to publicize the movie! google “Carey Loftin” to see the list of many of the movies he did stunts in, or was stunt coord. for...

    Watched Thunder Road on DVD last weekend - great movie - I am from NC mountains about 40 miles away from where it was filmed, also 1940 Ford Coupe owner.

  8. ............I spent my first 12 years just over the mountains in East Tennessee and own a '40 Ford Coupe as well. Great Southern minds must think alike.:)
