Hey all, I searched but couldn't find what you all did to stop your model A windshield from blowing inwards at top speed. Help is appreciated
Top speed ? Just drive slower Seriously though you can fab up some stops. I don't have any pictures but I have seen it done. Check out Retrosteel's A roadster build, he may have pictures of what he built. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/members/retrosteel.45236/
I turned a couple of pins out of 1/4 hex SS. I threaded one end 10-32 and the other was turned down to 3/16 dia with a radiused end. I drilled and tapped the stanchions and screwed the pin stops in with Loctite. They worked at 120+ on Fontana Speedway! You can see one of the pins at the bottom of the left stanchion in this photo.
Orignal Ford part's will solve your prolblems, Lots of prolblems with aftermarket , they are not made the same as Ford
