The Road Queen! This may be the only hot rod or custom car in existence to be a true and genuine “Bad Girl” car – the real deal – that comes with an exceptionally colorful and checkered history. But first, the car…

The Road Queen has a great – no, let’s say amazing and stunning – roof chop, which is 5” in front and 6” in the rear. It is done very tastefully and looks great on this car…for my money this has the most tasteful chop and body lines I’ve ever seen on a ’49 – ’51 Ford. Sleek, low and fast! I don’t know who did the bodywork but they were real artists as well as craftsmen, thinking out not just the construction but the sculptural and other artistic aspects of the body as a whole. Check out the sleek, long and gorgeous fender skirts. Just perfect!

The engine is a balanced & blueprinted 350 Chevy with 4-bolt mains, MSD ignition, 650 Holley on an Edelbrock manifold, Edelbrock water pump, Isky cam, ported & polished heads, tube headers and many other goodies. It is strong, revs up quick, and has a wonderful, rich, throaty sound. The transmission is a 350 TH. No drips. Front disc brakes and a late-model dual master cylinder. Good Coker whitewall tires with minimal wear.

Custom touches include: ’52 Merc headlight rims, ’82 Caddy taillights, ’49 Merc grill shell, ’55 De Soto grill, SW gauges, ’49 Plymouth bumpers, Stewart Warner gauges, GM front seat, ’55 Pontiac side trim. Painted Dark Violet Metalic (Imron 4443U). About half a can of the original paint is included. Shaved door handles. Non-functional lake pipes. The inside edges of the doors include autographs of some of the actresses who appear in the Road Queen’s movies. Rolled and pleated interior that matches the exterior paint. Everything is period perfect!

The issues with the car are as follows: Floorboards have rust but you’re not going to fall thru. The horn sticks so I disconnected it and it is currently Inoperable. The gas gauge reads around 1/3 when it is empty. The wing windows don’t fit perfectly although this isn’t visibly noticeable. See photos for very minor body damage around the left-rear tail light. Oil pressure gauge needs to be hooked up and the neutral safety switch is not working. Rattle in dash. This car has been driven to various movie shoots in California, Nevada and Arizona, and remains ready to go anywhere. All lights and turn signals work.

As for its colorful provenance: It is the star of a highly awarded, long-running x-rated movie series by the same name. The Road Queen series encompasses 35 full-length movies shot over a period of about eight years, featuring the car and its female co-star on all 35 DVD covers. The series’ female co-star and owner/driver of the Road Queen is Deauxma (pronounced “Dew-may”), who takes the car to various remote towns in the Southwest, engaging with a succession of characters and situations along the way.

The movie series story has a Route 66 and ‘Thelma and Louise’ theme, with Deauxma traveling to dusty, nearly forgotten but somewhat idyllic towns and small bergs where being financially broke is the norm and never of any concern. And, of course, they are all on the hunt for lesbian romance and usually end up finding it. The movies show many shots of the car in rural locations ranging from driving thru the California’s High Sierra mountains to the Arizona desert. The series came to a close when Deauxma retired in 2016. There were many requests to continue the series with another lead but in honor of Deauxma and the integrity of the series, the car was never again featured in a movie. There was no actress who even looked the part. ‘Road Queen’ is history’s longest running x-rated movie series with the same lead character. This car is recognized worldwide by many more people than will admit to it! Poster small.jpg

I have owned the car since 2005. Clean title and current operating registration. All cash, no trades. While the price may seem suspiciously inexpensive for a car like this, I am not a guy who overprices a car and sits on it for months. No. This is a very fair price for this car, even without its colorful provenance!
