I was deeply saddened to hear of the unexpected passing of our good friend Sunday morning,
Douglas P Schmidt "Doughy" Not a friendlier car guy around, always had that smile. After not seeing him in person for awhile I had actually forgot his first name(???)So we had a running joke going since then. He always wore a work shirt with his name on a patch that said Doug. He would point to it for me and say "HI,Iam Doug, glad to meet ya"

Id like to dedicate this years Buffalo Motorama-Open Wheel Room to his memory. He and Darryl had brought the JUMPING BEAN dragcar to the show this year and were partners in other builds.

Such a sad loss. I still can't believe it! Dougie was one of the kindest, coolest, friendliest Hot Rodders around. He'd be willing to help you out with anything. He will not be forgotten. Godspeed Doug!

  9. Dougie was a great guy and definitely will miss his smile. Here are just a couple of his cars he built, taken to early. FB_IMG_1490800364659.jpg 100_3421.jpg 100_1973.jpg 102_5840.jpg

Here's a pic of the falcon... He Really built some bitchin' cars! And drove the wheels off of them!

I only knew Doug for about a year, but he was a great guy. Just saw him at the Calvalcade show a few weeks back.
