One of altereds greats has left the strip.

 

Pure Hell was a very small part of his career. From what I know, he had a good life. R.I.P.

 

Dale was a true gentleman,always..He will be mussed at our annual Dallas geezer reunions

 

Correct! ... in the '70s, Dale went on to many other successes & great accomplishments in his professional drag racing career ... I was just trying to keep this tribute to Mr. Emery somewhat "HAMB-friendly".

In 2012, Phil Burgess (NHRA National Dragster Editor) wrote a great biographical piece on Dale's entire drag racing career:
