image.jpg image.jpg Two Legends lost in a span of 6 mos. I'm glad the we re-built The Broiler again and Bill could have his Birthday celebration there. I'll miss his presence, but will cherish the memories, the talks and the history that Bill brought to this world RIP LEADSLINGER !!!!!
(On his B-day Cake, the decorator spelled LEADSINGER. We all got a big chuckle out if that!)
    Will miss you Bill.

    RIP Bill.

Looking on the bright side though, he helped a whole new generation of younger guys get going. Brad Masterson and others are still keeping the tradition going

Damn, what a shame :( . Every time I grab my lead sticks and paddles I think of him. Now I'll have another reason to think of him. He lived a good, long life. That's something to reflect on as well.

    RIP leadslinger

  7. A true loss to our hobby for sure. I'll look at it this way though. If I live to be his age I've got 56 more years to do this.

Damn, that sucks! Met and talked to him quite a few times over the years when he was back in MI visiting. Approx. 30 yrs. ago he tutored me on my first "candy job". Suggested gun to use, fluid tip, air cap, etc. Used his combo and it came out pretty damn good, good enough to win a handful of paint awards. Thanks for everything Bill... RIP.

Sad news for sure, I think I'll go out in the garage and melt a bar of lead in honor of Bill. Condolences to the custom world and his Family.

It's sad but he "lead" a exciting life and going in your sleep is the best way to go. I was thinking about that Monster Garage episode where he helped build the 54 Chevy and out of all the "Masters" that worked on it, only Gene is still with us.

Bill always came across as a really nice guy, so very sorry to hear of his passing. :( Wonder how much cigar smoke and lead he ingested in his long life ?

Condolences to his family and friends, he was a very talented, one of a kind human being.

Sorry to hear the news. RIP Bill. My guess is, he did what he loved for most of his life, what more could one ask for?
    Well done Bill!

My fondest memory of Bill was when he, and the other greats, were on the one episode of Monster Garage. Bill just quietly and confidently did his leading while Jesse James sat in awe while Bill plied his craft. What a cool guy.

I bet Norm is up there right now giving Bill a hard time !

  23. You go back to not very long ago....to the beginning of the HAMB for instance, and most of the icons were still with us.

The 30 year old club I've been entrusted with lost its founder this year as well.

    Time marches on.

GODSPEED BILL. Junior told me a couple of years ago, that his stepson would take him to breakfast every morning. As Junior put it " he wasn't even his real son."
