Hi. Is it possible to fit an 820x15 tyre onto a rim that is 5.25" wide? Have searched threads but can't find much info on this. Thanks.

    yes, mount it up.

  3. I have my Firestone 8.20x15 mounted on a 6.0 inch rim and it is fine. The tread width is 5.0 inches.

Coker Tire folks told me last year to make sure my rim was at least the same width as the tire tread. You should be OK.

  5. Done a whole lot back in the day.

    I believe Shoebox wheels are either 5 1/2" or 6" wide x 15"

No probs as long as the tires fit in the wheelwell - which could be a prob in some Shoeboxes.

If I remember right, a favored junkyard wheel was from the four passenger T-Birds.
    7" x 14".

Can't remember where, but we used to get 7" x 15" wheels in the 4 1/2" Ford bolt pattern from somewhere.

Not long after we started doing that, chrome wheels then mags came in . . . then life got easy . . . ceptn' for payin' for the trick wheels....

Yeah, wheel wells won't be a problem as they're goin' on a hi boy model A. Thanks all for your help.
