    Mine arrived over the weekend. Now you know and I know that this book HAS to be fabulous simply from the fact that Rik is behind it.     I just finished my first read through of Rik's book. This is a must have even if you are not into customs. The text, photos, layout and printing are truly first class. Well done!!

    Rik, I am blown away by the quality of this book! It is far more than a documentation of one car but a web of the people, places and events that enveloped it. The fact that you used two of our dads photos in it makes it emotional as well. This is a crazy world we live in and the fact that an 18 year old kid in 1964 can shoot some shots of the Kookie T right out of High School (in Sioux City Iowa) and see them in print almost 50 years later says a lot about the power of the internet! Thank you so very much!

    Now, what is the next book going to be!?!?!?! ;)

I received my book today and I was very excited.One of the best books I have ever purchased and without a doubt one of the best automotive books I have ever bought.It is very nice to have a full custom book written by a guy who is into nothing but customs.It shows in the details and in the writing.I have only looked through it quickly and read some of it but I loved everything I read.

    I don't want to spoil it for people but I REALLY appreciate the honesty you had Rik about the Ayalas and the major role they had in that car.Quality paper,quality cover just everything about it was great.I love how you even have some floating beautys in the book,I love those.
    Thanks for all the hardwork to make a real custom book for real custom people.I just really can't think of the right words to describe the quality.I also loved the name you gave me where you signed it. :)

    Oh ya I almost forgot.... that book made me want to go do some Christmas sleddin.Took the Merc out for a little 33 mile cruise today.Not far but a nice little afternoon sled session.

    WOW! got my book this morning and I'm not surprised how Rik knocked it out of the
    ballpark. This book is a Homerun!! I hadn't had a chance to read it yet (may have to
    go home sick) but thumbing through the book it is a have to order if you are a true
    kustom nut.

    I'd like to Thank Rik for all of his work with in our Kustom Hobby. Kustoms will never be
    the most popular car trend but it will always be the koolest. Rik is doing a great job
    keeping Kustoms alive and introducing it to the next generation. Thank You Rik for all
    that you do.

    I know that this wasn't easy to do and you can see all of your hard work that went into
    publishing this book. It has a lot of stories and information that takes time to gather up
    let alone get it print ready. Hopefully this book will be a big success and you will publish
    many more in the future.

    I'm really happy everybody who got a copy of the new book is enjoying it.
    I had a fantastic time researching, writing and creating this book over the last year and a half.
    But having all these great responses is the real icing on the cake.

    When a project like this is created you want to show as much material as possible. But sometimes there is just to much and you have to decide what to use and what to leave out. Here is another photo that did not ended up in the final version of the book.

    Jack Stewart had three photo proof sheets of photos taken by Rick Rickman of Jack's customized MG.One of the other cars that is highlighted in this book. Some of the material on the proof sheets was used in the book, but this great shot of Jack posing with the car did not make the final version of the book.

    Jack was not really satisfied with the factory stock looks of his new ride in 1953, so he had his MG customized by his good friend George Cerny. Jack's MG was on the cover - small color photo - of the May 1954 Car Craft magazine and had an massive 5 spread article inside this issue. With more in progress photos in a later issue.

    Photographer Rick Rickman had followed the work George Cerny did on Jack's MG and used the many photos he took during the progress for several how-to articles. Rick also took the photos of Jack's MG for the feature article which were taken at the Compton Drive-in theatre.

    You know Rik, you look and act like a "normal" person in picture's, and in person, YOUR NOT. This is like a rich confection, if you eat it to fast you can be overpowered by it. Best to take it a piece at a time and savor every little morsel. Your most valuable asset(?), the "normal" part, don't lose it.

    I haven't read all of the text yet, but I can say that the photos are really superb. It is a nice change to see something new, rather than the same old, re-recycled photos that we usually see of old custom cars. I highly recommend this, and to anyone who likes custom cars, this book is an essential buy. As was stated elsewhere, this isn&#8217;t merely about Jack Stewart and his Ford. It&#8217;s also about the Golden Sahara, the Kookie Car, Barris, George Cerny, The Ayala Brothers, and many others.

    I also have to give you congratulations for printing it in your home country, instead of taking the low road and printing it in a Chinese sweatshop like all of the &#8220;big boys&#8221; do. That&#8217;s important! Well done Rik, and congratulations!

    Is that even possible. I ordered the book evening of 11th of december. Arrived today; 13th of December from The Netherlands to Norway. THATS 1 1/2 day. Must be world record. Faster that local mail here in Norway.

    Unfortunatly its a Christmas present from my kids, so I am not allowed to sneak peek.:(

    Rick, after looking over all the photos at least 20 times, I am now into the "other" part of your book. I was never a big fan of the Jack Stewart Ford. But after reading what his vision was and when he had it, I get it. This is a story book. Not just the story of a car but the stories of people. Thank you for all your research. You have done an exceptional job.

    Rik got my signed copy and it was everything I knew it would be....your research and attention to detail is commendable and scholarly to a fault.......it's one thing to assemble pictures but a whole different issue when they are backed by facts and first hand accounts...as I have stated before you are in a class by yourself.....! I thank you for all the hard work to not only create the book but your never ending work to educate us as well.

    Ordered mine on the 13th Dec and arrived on the 20th Dec.
    Started reading immediately and have now read the whole book.
    I loved all the additional history that was unearthed on the quest for information on the 41.
    This book is a must for any custom car guy that wants to know what happened in the early days.
