I got a Model A sedan and it's right hand drive. it's in need of a new steering box. What's out there, what works best and where does a guy in the USA get one??
Hi. Just to clarify, do you want to retain the side steer rather or change to cross steer? If your going to go with the side steer set up some options would be: VW Bus, Early Ford F100. The early F100 boxes are pretty pricey (several hundred AUD) whilst the VW can be had cheaper. If you want to go the cross steer route, prboably the most common box being used here is from a Holden HQ (Mid 70's GMC sedan) They are cheap around $40 AUD. Hope this helps some Adam
Why not rebuild the old one. Check out snyders or macs or any of the major Model A restorer businesses. They all list the parts to rebuild right hand drive stuff. Ahoogah will have a full list of dealers Cheers
use a 37-48 pass car steering box carv the orig mount spots on it and weld a flange on it like the stocker and it will work perfect pitman even points down like a stocker
