While it doesn't look like much has been done to the survivor - a lot of bullshit things have been checked off the list.

Restore? What is there to restore? That car is in excellent shape. Where was it stored all this time, in somebody's bedroom? Wow this is a great find! Think about what the other post have suggested, fluids, brakes, a top to bottom once over on the engine. Some checked paint, a small scratch, some wrinkles in the trim will only give this car charicture that takes a long time to create. It's a cool car buddy!

  10. Coming along nicely, Rich! Gotta get down to see this!

  12. Rich, I am interested in the front shocks. Can you take a closer picture and let me know what they are and how they were mounted? They look cool and I am looking for ideas. Was that an original feature of the car? Thanks Dale

I couldn't determine the original brand of front shocks, other than the style
(stud mount on top and on bottom). The top chassis mount is original to the car, but the lower mounts had to be cut off becuase they put the shocks in a bind and they we set up for stud mount. I used chromed Pro-Shocks for Mustang II set up.

  18. Would you be willing to take a closer pic of the shock setup for me? Looks cool. The whole car looks great. I think you and the owner are doing the right thing to this car. I am all for nostalgia and history but if it's not useable it's just some form of art. No sense driving a cobbled up relic when you can fix it properly and drive it. Nice job!

Nice. The little red ram looks damn good. Like the backing plates with the painted detail too. Nice stuff.

Been moving along on the Survivor, lots of little stuff done. While this looks like a small part, this dash panel required everything from CNC water jet cutting to having to tig weld over a dozen tiny brackets to mount it inside the 48 Stude chrome bezel, to also making an aluminum laminate panel and painting it to match the body color...the gauges are Sun tach, Stewart Warner motor minder and the three large gauges are '48 Buick.
