Ohhhhhhhh Rich, what color is that? That' looks like the color I want to paint my 5w!!!! I was going to Ask Bobby Green for his Stude pickup color but that looks pretty much dead on too!!! I love it!!!

So much talent...I need to start hanging around with you some more Rich. Maybe it'll rub off. I'll even let you make fun of me like you usually do!

Thanks Jeffrey and Brett. I don't know about talent....I HATE Painting!

The color which is real close to the orignal color of the rod is 1994 Toyota Tercel code 8J2 Metallic Blue

With all the paint work done, except for the engine and trans, it was time to get parts that are be chrome plated ready to go. Having massaged a few pieces I had to inventory the parts. From small (nuts/bolts etc.) to large there are 215 parts to be chrome plated! Yow! Now I have to pack all this stuff up for UPS, and send it to Alabama, because the chrome platers here su*k.

Yowsers!!! I can't imagine plating all of that. Makes my pile of like 5-10 things look like nothing. I always new there was a reason I wanted to build late 40's hot rods. Chrome is expensive.....

...well unless you've got an inside man right scooter?

Way back in another lifetime I used to be the chief inspector at a large plating company and I WAS THE INSIDE MAN for many of my racing buddies! Pushed a lot of chrome "G Jobs" through that place! Boy I could use a connection right now. :D

See I would hate to be in your position Rich. Chief plating inspector means you have to be really picking with your chrome...almost to a fault. Where as someone like myself who's a hack can appreciate some back yard chrome like these boys do in NC. I actually prefer it since the rest of my car is Old looking. We have a guy here in Charlotte that does some really nice work for a really good deal. Now I would probably bet that you would not be satisfied with his work especially since you're building for a client but for the rest of us folk it looks like chrome!!!!

Anyhow, love that car. Will I see it at Good Guys this year?

Yeah... If there's an inside man that won't lose rare valve covers and make parts into pretty chromed parts without issues later down the road, then heck yeah! :D

Jeffrey; the problem with plating in NC is they have to use trivalent chrome bath instead of hexavalient chrome bath. In some other states they can do the real deal.

Rich, The body sure came out purty ! My wife is big on Blue paint jobs and this one would get her vote. Looking forward to seeing the chassis in final assembly.

Well, after waiting for the chrome to come back from the plater; I'm back on this build. Lots of time comsuing stuff right now, but I should be setting it on the ground this week. I'll also be turning my attention to the engine and trans soon. The engine is done, have to pick it up from the engine builder and then paint it etc. etc.
