I'm curious about restoring YOM license plates to like new or retaining the original (highly weathered, faded) finish? Got a set of '28 plates that are highly "patinaed", and am trying to decide about restoring to like new or not. also wonder about changing the color from brown to white. Yes, I know its not "legal" to change the color, but brown?

do a search here for refinishing license plates. you answered your own question about changing color of plates. some change colors and do not get caught, others have to redo their plates. your call.

  3. good answer ... and remember OP every state is different as far as laws go.

  4. i have seen guys (a good craftsman ) cut and weld old plates to get the numbers they wanted .... legal ???? if you are registering any old plate it has to be verified that its ok to use so why not get what to want ...
