Hey, so I was hoping to find a "classic car" shop in the Chico area; Anyone recommend anything or know where I should stay away from?

-I need my brakes bled/connected correctly
    -wiring installed
    -paint/bodywork
    -glass installed

It doesn't sound like much but it's just taking me forever. I've already forgotten what it's like to even drive a cool car and it's got me pretty damn depressed.

(hopefully) sold my DD so I need to get my '57 back on the road!

So if anyone can make any recommendations or suggestions, that'd be great, thanks!

    That's cool-
I guess maybe I should have said "inexpensive and reputable",

    Oz looks a bit steep...

Oroville is not for me, and going to see someone w/the same name as a very famous TV prison drama is not helping entice me either,

Vintage Hot Rods is a great place. It's owned by Dave Davidson, a big Bonneville racer. John Beck owns and runs the engine machine shop and dyno facility. They own the world's fastest roadster record at something over 300 mph on nitro.

X2 for Vintage Hot Rod in Chico (vhrcustoms.com). if you are looking for a super low price may need to ship your car out of Calif. know of a couple of guys that have done that. not being able to check on progress in person on a regular basis is the tough part.

    Jalopy Joker-

Yea man, now you are talking. I had a nice man in Oakland tell me he'd get it roadworthy on the cheap (CHEAP!), but I just don't know about towing it that far anymore- So I guess it's the same with shipping?
It's funny 'cause all my friends and family who DON'T work on cars keep asking me when it'll be done and I'm like "Hey, I lack tools and a decent workspace (among other things!), when those two problems get solved I'll be able to give ya an approximate answer," but that never happens, so now I'm trying to "speed things up" (maybe not 300 mph speed things up though, hahaha)

Oz is not "expensive" he might not wanna do brake work but he does nice paint you should at least contact him before you jump to
Conclusions. I know oz well he's a personal friend. People seem to
Think cuz he and other builders do show cars that's all they do and I will tell ya that ain't the case.

    Thanks man!

But what I'm really looking for is someone just willing to assist me in getting the car drivable-
It's been at least a decade since the last time I drove it and I'm very frustrated at all the work that still lies ahead.... And it's not that much.

Just getting the brakelines installed correctly (so they don't leak)
    Wiring,
Bolting the transmission to the frame
    connecting the fuel line
    and
    Installing the windshield.

Then I guess bodywork and paint and interior go in the "someday" pile....

It's one thing to run out of money building a show car,
It's another thing to not even have anything to show.

And right now, I'm in the latter category and it sucks the big one.

Sounds like you need a high school shop teacher to help you out???
