removing rear axle seals

Whats the best tool to use when removing rear axle seal fron inside axle housing?

 

if your talking about the seals at the wheels ends of the housings we use one of these slide hammers.

 

Thats a good idea i had never thought of that. I would just be sure to be careful of the spline.

 

Search "how to remove axle seal on a ford 8.8" on youtube. Its a 16second video. I think this would work on any axle

 

If the third member is removed, a long pipe and some light taps from the other end usually works for me.
