Got a question about possibly mounting a coolant recovery tank a good bit away from the radiator, and maybe lower that the radiator. Think it will work ?

they work on the siphon principle so should be no problem just make sure the hose connections are tight .

  3. Yep, it will work.

Don't forget though, if there's a problem the recovery tank is the first place scalding hot coolant goes and comes out of. Out of harms way should shit hit the fan.

  4. As they are mounted on production vehicles they tend to be near the height of the radiator filler neck. I think they're mounted this way because they do depend on the siphon principle. Mounting the tank too low would be likely to cause problems. Mounting it further away, but near the height of the top of the radiator, you might get away it within reason.
