CrazyDaddy in Austin has a car door that I want to buy. As you can well imagine, shipping a door conventionally is going to be financially painful. Is it realistic to think that a relay can be arranged in between Austin Texas and the Washington State/Canada border? Are any northerners going to venture south to the "Round Up" in April with enough room to stow a door? Just thinking out loud here... any input would be welcome. Does offering gas money to willing relay participants offer any incentive?
I can help from the border Tinn. I sure hope something can be arranged up to there. I am eight miles from the border, even less as the crow flies.
Thanks Brian (B Bob), just working on trying hatch a plan. I'm sure you can guess what kind of door this is, eh?
Yeah, check with Greyhound...should be able to get it to Seattle or so for under $100. I've shipped big Cadillac fenders for $60-70 across the US.
A 1929 Whippit ... 4 door left rear maybe ?? You must know it is against the law to ship 1932 Ford parts into Canada
hahahaha. good one Randy. Yeah, that's it .... Whippet door. Marcy, your offer is much appreciated. I've never been to the Portland Swap, but lots of my buddies seem to make it a yearly pilgrimmage. So if I can't find a solution sooner I may take you up on your offer later. If Greyhound ends up being reasonable, say $100 to Seattle or thereabouts. that's definitely do-able. Will my local Greyhound be able to quote on shipping out of Texas? I'll call them when the sun comes up.
I had two Deuce rear fenders shipped from here in South Carolina to San Franciso for less than $100.00 ... a few years ago. Got a Deuce 5W deck lid shipped from here to Oregon for about the same money. Took about two weeks for them to get there ... but they did get there. .
why don't you just use a fiberglass door? Just joking, you know I'm a heartless bassturd, see ya in the middle of March
