damn that thing looks sweet.what color is the roof gonna be?or is that white paint the shadows make it look like primer if it is paint.
Thanks everybody It' still a long way from compleation but it's making the trip to austin. The roof will be white right now it's white primer(body work is not finished on the roof yet). I've got lots of pics. of the chop in progress that I will post soon maybe in a tech post.
It looks bitchin. I got mine running last night hopefully I'll get some pics soon of it to post. I was wondering if you ever posted on here. I was trying to get your # again so I could call you to see how the 54 is going but I haven't ever had time to call david about it. I'm thinking about chopping my 60 4dr next after I get my 54 done. I'll try and send you some shots of the 54 and jesters 53 4dr that is being chopped also across town from me. I don't know if you met him at denison last year or not he was driving a 58 ford 4dr that was flat black with a maroon top and maroon flames down the sides. Well I better go the ol' lady is a callin later. Don from ark.
Thanks TMAN and EVEL . LOWSPRINGS I sank just the corners of the glass. Everybody said you can't use the factory back glass so I was determined to use it! Like I said I'll do a tech post as soon as I can or during the next tech week.Yeah KUSTOM55 sounds good , find me when I get there. Thanks PETER! Jamie
I cut the window surround right above the beltline around to the trunk hinge pockets and let the window pivot forward. I wante to use the beltline trim and now it will bolt right back on with no problems because I did'nt have to move the metal around this way all the body work is above the beltline.By doing this I don't have to repaint the body right now.
Camaro front clip stock springs in back. I made three inch lowering blocks out of 1/2" walled square tubing and removed three springs from the spring pack.I cut one coil off the stock camaro spring but the clip is installed pretty low.
Great Chop. A lot of times sedan roofs that are chopped look like they are going to pop back out. Yours looks great. Gives me inspiration on my 54 chieftain. WHat did you do for front glass? Larry Someone is going to have to go back and get a shitload of dimes!!!!
so you didn't cut the back glass at all? you just cut the window frame and layed it down? i'm working on a 54 chevy myself and i would really like to use the back glass. thanks
Looking good Daddyo!!! Congratulations on the kool chop top, I like seeing chops that have the right proportions, & not over chopped. Keep welding and I'll see ya at Austin. Happy Trails, Mick
So did you have to build a rain tray that runs to the outside to seal the window at the bottom or what? Thanks. Larry
