hey guys got a ? about rear wheel wells on 55 chevys i ve seen many pics of the wells being raidisd and some stock what do you guys think about them i want to run at lease a 15 x 10 wheel on the back of mine
Personally I hate to see the wheel wells radiused. That's a WHOLE lotta re-work if you or the next owner decides to go a different direction.
yeah i like the stock look myself like the ones on Bob spinneys car that i have a pic of on another thread here which i still need more info on
On an all out track car you may need to radius the wheel wells. If they are rotted anyways and a person would have a good bit of work either way, cut them. On a nice car, I'd leave them alone.

I love the look of radius wheels wells for the track look especially if you are going gasser style, but I wouldn't do it if you are going stock or custom.
It's gotta be done right or it'll look awful. Radiused wheel wells look best on 55 150's where there's no quarter side trim. Best one I ever saw was a really mean 55 150 (big block, fenderwell headers, flip front, etc)that had Nomad wheel wells grafted in. It was really well done.
It might not be what you're looking for, but here's some 10.5"X30"X15" slicks mounted on 10" wheels. 3 1/2" backspacing and they're still kind of a pain to get off the car. Larry T
a couple of years ago we did a custom '55 what we used was 55 nomad rear quarter patch panels. they have a raidius and keep with the factory look. Also we did a gasser looking 54 ford used the wheel opening from a set of extra front fenders we had both ways worked great . not alot of people even noticed the 55 had been changed .
