    Okay next question

I’m running a model A rear with juice brakes. When I tighten the hub nut , the drum locks up. I cannot turn the drum / wheel.

I can only turn it when the castle nut is hand tight and very loose. Do I just keep going on her till she is seated ? Or do I need to run some sort of adaptor to stop the drum from sliding back too far ?

    any info is greatly appreciated.

Shim. You can make them, or by them.

    They are under $2:

    Hey Jon,
At some point, you should be able to hear the backing plate rubbing on the drum… long before lock up.
If you can put new drum on … most likely…no rubbing , no shims.
Alternatively, you can look at where drum is rubbing on backing plate. Try grinding backing plate and or drum. If that helps, maybe add shims or some combo of all these.
FWIW: new drums are available and good idea.

This is typical on juice brake conversion, you will need to shim or as I did, machined the outer axle housing to move backing plate in a few thousands
