Just picked up this 29 Ford coupe. I am now the 3rd owner and it is all original and missing nothing. Everything works, runs and drives still. Interior is still intact! Took a bit to get it but man am I happy. Going to actually enjoy this one as a stocker for awhile. Here are pics from Monday after driving it home.

Plans are for a hopped up 4 banger and that's about it, maybe loose the fenders for awhile but I do like the fenders on it. Ordered a winfield head and a downdraft intake for it already. I really like the mid thirties style of model a hot rods so that's the direction I'm going. No chop right now, it is just too nice.

I take no offense to your comment about rodding this. I am actually thinking of keeping it the way it is. I have never found a car like this, it is still a shock to me. I paid 6000 for it and I think I made out on the deal. Look at this pic of the engine!! 72000 original miles.

I agree with 440roadrunner - I'm good with choppin' and roddin' but it's gettin' hard to find good stuff that complete only to chop/channel/rod. Plenty of rat rod material that could easily be "restored" back to a traditional hot rod vs. takin' unmolested, hard to find material only to get the same results.

Any good stories about finding RAT RODS and restoring them back to a traditional rod out there?

    why the hell not?

i have seen cars fresh off a resto get rodded... its NICE to start with something solid you dont need to collect shit for.

drive the piss out of it... rod it later

So, this car was "lost" and no one living knew of it's wherabouts until you discovered it and made the world aware of it''s presence? This would have to be true for it to be a "find"...............right?
Just having a little fun with a lame, wornout label put on everything that's not in plain sight. Looks like you scored a real cherry pie of an A, congratulations, don't screw it up. The poor thing has survived 80 years without being ravaged by a "rat rodder". Give it a respectable rebirth befitting it's stature.......................or go and get a rusted pile to violate................PLEASE!!!!!

Torn on this one. A barn find original is a great thing. But man it's just too cherry to mess with. Remember....It's only original once.

But man what a fantastic treasure. Tell us more about the find!

a buddy sent me a bunch of links to Youtube with bangers sreaming and sounding gnarly. It'd be cool to hear that sound and see that sweet little A screaming downt he street. In that case juice brakes might not be a bad idea though. Lol.

  24. Congrats-very nice score.

  25. This sounds like the Model A restorers club...
It will never look any good until it's rodded a bit.
Remember Henry Ford thought so little about his
cars that he virtually gave them away for a few hundred bucks.
A dime a dozen as they say .................

anyone can restore em, it takes a real man to cut one up. make it right, make it a hotrod! You can do it tastefully and mild to keep some of its stock integrity with a hotrod flare?
    yes/no

Great Car! Adding juice brakes and 16" ford wires with Firestones aren't going to destroy it and will change the appearance dramatically.Check out hamber Chris's coupe. You'll like it!
