OK dudes i am starting up a real build thread on my 54 chevy. I have owened the car for about 2 years now. But now i am going to do it the right way and finish it. My plans are. 1)Doing all metal and bodywork The RIGHT WAY no half ass. 2) Rebuild the front suspension, because it creeks pretty bad and is sloppy. 3) Then do all new rubbers doors, bumpers, trunk and so on. 4) Then i am going to paint the car in 1955 Ford blue and 54 Olds gold. 5) interior. I am going to post progress pictures tonight of some of the work i have done. Thanks yall.:D

  2. Should be interesting. Please make your pictures bigger than the one you just posted as it is tiny and doesn't get any bigger when opened up.

  6. Easiest way is to host them on a site like photobucket.

Here are the pics of the car in its current stage. I havebeen fitting trim on the car. I just put on 1955 chevy quarter trim along the side. For my 17th birthday i got window seals, Chrome wire looms, trim hardware, and much more. More to come

Ok so iv been decideing on color combos. Im looking for a 50s color scheme. My buddy cheater max's had a shoebox painted blue and gold. (Looked bitchen) and so i came to the conclusion i am going to do a dark blue with a nugget gold roof.
    Somethin along these lines...

Thanks man speaking of 40s check oit my 40 chevy build.

He just sold it. He did an awsome job on it. But i think that color scheme is perfect for a 50s kustom build.

I saw that shoebox and it was very nice. Was a good price it was selling for, too. I liked that paint scheme, should look just as good on this Chevy.

Are these the caps you are talking about - 1953 Studebaker?
They should look really great on your car.

Lose the guards and add extra teeth! You're going to have to nose it at some point, too! Keep it up!

Also a good option, the Pontiac is pretty easy to adapt to keep the stock parking lights. Back in the day, they also made a grill bar for 54's that had no holes for teeth...I think Cal Custom made it. Nice smooth look!

I think you were right the first time. no teeth and no bumper guards. less is more! nose the hood and mold the upper grill surround. think that would look really clean. just my thoughts. good luck bro!

Yea i was going to use some pipe steel pipe and cut it in half. then round the corners of the hood.
Thanks broski. yep more pics coming tonight.

I am shaving the handles, but i am using the button off a 1955 chevy. So all i will have is a little door button to open the doors.
