Stage 4, liver, it is not good. Ray is a happy guy who looks at the bright side, just a prince of a man. What the hell is going on? First Bill Hines health scare, yesterday found out that Dick Spadaro has brain cancer now this?...
Ray is a legend here in the Kansas City area. He is quite a character. He is a wealth of information. In my prayers.
Just got into KCMO; talked to Joan, and I'm heading over, to try and visit him, soon. I'll let you all know how he's doin'. Shot this, cruisin', around 8 months back.
Yes, Ray passed in his sleep Sat. night. Got this email from his wife on Sunday: I want to inform everyone, Ray made his transition last night at 8:40PM. He fought the cancer valiantly, but it was more than he could fight. He passed quietly in his sleep.Love Joan
RIP Ray, I was reading the other thread and it seems that Ray was blessed with a long fruitful life. At 83+ years we should all be happy to have shared his experiences.
I commented on Justin's Facebook. This is a bummer indeed. He was a fantastic guy, and the real deal. RIP Ray - you're still radical in my book! ~Jason
Ray was a happy, energetic and enthusiastic person, always with a smile. What a pleasure it was to have known him starting fifty years ago! My condolences to the family. Sounds like he passed in the manner in which we all hope to.
I'm honored that I came to know Ray over the last 10 years. Always a gentleman and always willing to give advice or better yet, turn a wrench, light a torch, use a dolly and hammer, or lay some paint. But the most enjoying and memorable for me was when Ray would bring pictures and a story to our Misfits gatherings. Ray would was always sharing years of memories and I tried to soak it all up. I'm confident Gods chariot is now powered by a full race flathead , chopped, sectioned, and flamed. Ray, we miss you already. RIP.
I am told services will be this Saturday at Unity Village in Lee's Summit. Visitation will be between 1:30 and 2:30 pm.
