Can I see some cars that have been converted from "Brat Rods" into Tradional "Hot Rods?"

Improvement. Grill looks a little out of proportion. Could be the angles of the photos. Dig the green version

Fixed the roof, fire wall, tires and wheels, paint, lowered the grille, visor, needs drip rails.

That's fixing a hot rod, not a rat conversion.

  12. At least it didn't have a '40s tractor radiator shell...

This is why I am a custom guy. When it comes to hot rods I really am totally clueless. All I see is three hot rods with funny looking grilles

You are right there, that grill just does not fit the car and needs to be replaced with one that is sectioned so that it matches the height of the cowl. That is where too many guys miss the mark on getting things right.

Agree with Mr48. The radiator and shell need to be more proportional to the car - it looks like a big lantern-jawed dude sitting there. That is a common problem seen when these older cars are built - failure to trim down the grille/radiator/shell to match the profile of the car when it's chopped and/or channeled.

I realize the original intent of the post was not to generate a discussion like this, and the first responder did not ask for a critique of his fine-looking hot rod.

Yepper, that grill is one of the first things I'd have done away with.

The front end in pic 3 is much better after bobbing the "horns", lowering the radiator shell and loosing the spreader bar.
