Thanks Ryan - I'm a big Ed Roth fan - always pisses me off when I see the guys selling el-cheapo inkjet knock-offs of Big Daddy's ( among many other artists) decals, shirts, posters, etc. Maybe that's why Robert Williams said " Roth is the one who laid on the barbwire for the whole culture to cross over his back "
Being a fink fan, its nice to see an icon in this art form (that no doubt spands american culture), share his collection and admiration of another icons work. Thoughts on his contradiction in messages may be due to growth. If you have read a few of the books that are out it will become more clear. A non regrettable buy in my opinion. But what can you say... An icon for sure. Would love to see what bob has too!
I love this stuff. Been collecting Roth decals for a little while now, no idea how many I have. The "Big brother is watching you and little brother is snitching on you" is one of my all time favs! So much repop sticker garbage out there the real decals are getting harder and harder to find.
This is on my back window and I have had quite a few people ask me where I got it and how they could get one.
Cool stuff. I think I did order a decal or two from him right after I bought my 51 Merc. When I was in my early teens I wanted one of his airbrushed sweatshirts pretty bad but could never save up enough money picking berries in the summer to swing one.
I was in a shop in Phoenix/Tempe back in the mid 90s and that guy had the biggest Rat Fink collection I've seen in a long time.Very cool.
Being a retired Navy guy, I was happy to get one of these on e..y a few years ago to put on the window of my 27 pup. Crazy guy, he was. Gary
Navy here as well, and a bubblehead. This is one of my favorites, my daughter got me a shirt with this design on it as well.
Back in the early to mid sixties, you could send Ed $1.99 to join the Rat Finks of America club and get a membership certificate and a "hillbilly crash-helmet" (felt RF hat) - I had both...now I wonder where I left 'em?
I once asked Roth about his "I hate every cop in this town" sticker and t-shirt, he denied they ever existed.
