4-1/2 x 18" Halibrand -- supposedly early Indy roadster front wheels. One had a little accident on I-15 about 50 miles outta Vegas a few years ago. As you can see, it's been beautifully repaired. (The fronts are 14" Granada-Monarch-Whatever that similar Lincoln was called.

Just got these today, don't know if they are rare but I have never seen a pair. It seems they are 15x9. Gene. image000000 (39).jpg image000000 (40).jpg

    I like them.
Is there any lettering cast in the backs of these wheels?

  6. El Tigre was a JC Penney house brand and their wheels were most times made by Appliance. See the recessed lug holes. They should have Japan on the back side and they are 15" x 7" or 8.5" if they are indeed Appliance

Alphabet soup...they look like Appliance wheels to me with the recessed lug nuts. Probably say Japan on the back somewhere. Excellent quality wheels by the way....Sold by JC Penneys...

I did find a pair of caps. Gene. image000000 (42).jpg

  14. Those caps are the store brand from Sears Roebuck, you can make out the "SR" if you turn them in the right postion.

Picked these up yesterday. Don't know how rare they are, but I have never had a pair. Smooth from the center out. No lip or ledge. Nothing I could find on the back except this stamping B4C18 image000000 (53).jpg . 15x7 5 on 4.5. Gene.

    Looks like a Fenton??

The skinny 3-1/2" Fenton's are smooth like that out to the edge from what I remember?
Maybe these are to match the skinny's?
Fenton's also had the slight recess for lug washers.

Only problem with that is I thought Fenton's always had there name in the backside??

Could be?? If I get a chance today, I'm going to do a good cleaning on the backs to see if anything shows up.

Finally had a chance to clean up the back of the wheels. No name at all, no clue as to who made them?? Gene.

Possibly made by Safety Racing in Dowagiac, Michigan. They were actually cast at a foundry in Indianapolis. The guy told me he paid by the pound to have them cast, so he made them in magnesium because it was cheaper.

  28. Look like American Racing magnesium "Standard" drilled for truck floater axles. They are the later design not the early Palamides. They made them in aluminum also but I don't have my American Racing catalogs anymore to show the differences
