My avatar, Romeo Palemides cast a few sets of these with and for Chuck Turner in the '60s. This wheel is 2 piece, came in 15", 6" width or 7". (the outer half was 'deep' or 'shallow')
When Romeo had the meeting with the people that wanted to buy his "5 spoke Torque-Thrust", he offered this pattern also. They declined, but bought his patterns (many) and opened up as "American Racing".
Romeo also asked Dick Beith (E.T. Mags) if he was interested, but Dick also declined.
The E.T. lll bears a striking resemblance to the Palemides/Turner 2-piece, don't you think?
Sorry for the poor pic, but there are 2 stainless bolts on each spoke.

I know this is a old post but I found a pair of 1967 American Racing Equipment "Standards" 15x7 in beautiful shape in Ford/Mopar pattern locally. What's a good price to pay? There's a set on eBay for $450 in the wrong pattern. I know these are quite rare. I think they were produced in 67, 68 and maybe 69. What's the most? I know it's up to me but I'd rather keep looking, if it's out of line. I don't know how rare they are. I just started looking about a week ago and have found little, info and stumbled onto this pair by mistake. I have 4-original 15x7 Americans he wants. Thank you

Sorry for not answering you question. But I'm not clear on the two models of wheels you are speaking of.

I'm familiar with the brand American Racing Equipment but I've never heard of one of the wheel types named "Standard". Can you point me to a picture to better understand what your referring to.

Further the wheels your potential seller wants from you are what model line? Torque Thrusts, Torque Thrust "D"s, Sport, 200S, Le Mans or another line of ARE?

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Also are the American Standards made of Aluminum or Magnesium? They made them either way.

The American Racing wheels I'm looking at buying are aluminum not the magnesium the wheel was called "Standard".

This is theAmerican Racing " Standard" aluminum wheel. Although this is a six lug Chevy truck they were available in just about any bolt pattern

I thought the Standard wheel was Romeo Palamides first pre American wheel.

I have 4 torq thrusts. I bought from original purchasher, he bought them in 1970 for his Boss Mustang. He removed in 1990 said there's less than 500 miles on them and the redline tires

It does say American Racing Equipment on the back of the Standard rims. I borrowed that pic from the net. I haven't bought them yet and don't have pics. I need to know a fair price

Romeo Palamides wheels have a smoother transition in the bowl than the Standards.

Early British minis. The Magna wheel was made by JA Pearce in UK so that sort of makes sense

So I had to look it up and sure enough the Mini's from the late 60s had 7" brakes in the front. I think my mountain bike came with bigger rotors than that.

I need help can anyone identify this wheel for me? My father gave it to me about 30 years ago and it was his garden hose reel since I can remember. I'd love to find info and love to find a mate. It has a steel insert-aluminum outside. Closest match I've seen in a magazine was on a Hurst Olds

That's a Cragar G/T. There were a couple different spoke styles. That is the least common of the G/T's. They were only made in 14x6 and 15x6. The 15" is rarer and more sought after.
